  3.                         THE RAVE SCENE IN CORK IRELAND

  7.         Hello freaks, hippies, heads, ravers, junkies or what ever you want
  8. to be called in the past few years the 'RAVE' scene has become very large
  9. in Ireland.  It's has two main counties which the majority of ravers come
  10. from  Dublin and Cork.  The vast majority of Irish ravers come from Dublin
  11. considering it is the capital of Ireland and is more populated than Cork.

  14. WHAT IS A RAVER???...   Well if you asked this to an average everyday
  15.                         narrow minded bastard they will tell you that it is
  16. a crazed youth who takes drugs and abuses their body..  This of course is
  17. not true, a raver can be any person male or female of any age of about 14 or
  18. older.  The Raver will always stand out in a crowd with the style of hair,
  19. the cloths and of course the boots.  A raver does not necessarly have to 
  20. take drugs when going to one of these RAVES although the majority of them
  21. prefer to.  And a lot of Ravers try to be a hip as possible by choosing 
  22. whats IN and what OUT for a certain period of time.  For example here in Cork
  23. Gazza sytle haircuts were a big craze then they kind of went out.  All forms
  24. of healthy drinks such as Orange juice or lucozade etc..  So the Raver is 
  25. always aware of what's IN and what's OUT.

  28. NIGHTCLUBS....  There is only one major nightclub to go at the moment in
  29.                 Cork and that is 'Sir Henry's' which has been the leading
  30.                 Ravers den for the past 2 years.  The DJ's hear are 
  31.                 Greg D & Shane Johnson both whom play very european style
  32.                 house and American imports.  Other night clubs include 
  33.                 'Zoes' which is mainly a nightclub interested in making
  34.                 money and not truely devoted to the Rave Scene.  Another
  35.                 Club which is still going is 'Roxannes' which is owned
  36.                 by DJ Sean Zapp who actually started the Dance scene in
  37.                 Cork about 3 - 4 years ago in Cork and is still going today.
  38.                 'Reds' use to be a great nightclub to go to on a friday
  39.                 night with DJ's AMC & EDDY B play all the latest london
  40.                 style techno along with Belgiian imports but the owner
  41.                 of reds did not like the ravers going to his club.
  42.                 And finally 'RAPIDOS' is the newest addition to Cork
  43.                 nightclubs which used to be quit good but has fallen
  44.                 to pieces over the past few months .

  46. DRUGS.....
  47.                 The most common drug taken by the Raver is 'Ectasy' more
  48.                 commonly known as an 'E'. This drug comes in a tablet
  49.                 format and costs about 25 Irish punts to buy.  It comes
  50.                 in a number of colours such as white,yellow,blue and the
  51.                 different types have different effects as each is stronger
  52.                 or weaker than another.  Other drugs taken are LSD know
  53.                 as a 'TRIP'. This comes on a bit of paper with the ACID
  54.                 dropped onto the paper and it also comes in a vaariety of
  55.                 colours and strenghts.
